Dr. Foley is a professor in the Departments of Neurosurgery and Orthopaedic Surgery & Biomedical Engineering at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center and is chairman of the board of Semmes-Murphey Clinic in Memphis, Tennessee. He received his Doctor of Medicine degree and completed his neurosurgical residency at the UCLA School of Medicine, after which, he served in the United States Army Medical Corps, with his final assignment as Chief of Neurosurgery at Walter Reed Army Medical Center in Washington, DC. Since leaving the military, Dr. Foley has been a full-time practicing spine surgeon and has been actively engaged in research and product development, with focus on minimally invasive surgery, image- guided navigation, robotics, biomechanics, clinical outcomes, and disc regeneration.
